The Highbridge Pool and Play Center sit directly in
the shadow of the High Bridge Water Tower, offering views of its striking
cupola and stonework. The pool replaced the reservoir that had supplied the
Water Tower in 1934, which at the time provided 47,000 gallons of
gravity-pressured water to accommodate the increasing use of flush toilets when
it was erected in 1872. For hours and more information, visit http://on.nyc.gov/1hynCJh. To learn more
